Measure
The government will freeze fuel duty in 2021/22.
Businesses purchasing and importing fuel, as well as individual drivers.
The freeze applies immediately and as a continuation of a current measure, this will not result in a change.
The continued freeze in duty rates applied to fuel, the eleventh consecutive year, will be regarded as a popular measure by many businesses purchasing and/or importing fuel, as well as by individual drivers, as a welcome mitigation to expected increases in costs.
The Chancellor cited the need to keep the cost of living low in his speech. This measure ensures that the duty applied to petrol and diesel remains at 57.95p per litre.
