Gerry Biddle, Senior Consultant at Deloitte, comments on the Budget:
“The Chancellor has announced that he will reduce the multiplier for high street retailers by 33%, which will apply to those properties with a rateable value of less than £51,000. This will reduce the bills for smaller retailers from 1st April 2019 for a two year period. This measure will provide much needed assistance to occupiers including shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes.”
