Deloitte comments on carbon markets working group

3 March 2021

Mike Barber, UK climate change partner at Deloitte, comments on the Chancellor’s statement:

“Having a UK-based global market trading high quality voluntary carbon offsets will have a huge impact. It will address a critical part of the need to help hard-to-abate industries tackle decarbonisation credibly.  With potential for the global market to reach at an estimated 1.5 – 2 Gigaton CO2 by 2030, this initiative will positively position the UK environmentally and financially.”
